The best iPhone games (and iPad)

This article is written with the inestimable collaboration of Andresito , from El Pixel Ilustre , and it is a list of the games that both he and I, users, believe are the essentials of iPhone (and iPad). We also add those that are already considered classics, despite being a fairly recent machine. Ordered alphabetically, you can first find the ones chosen by us and, finally, the classics. Maybe not as well known as Tekken or Street Fighter IV, and will not have behind the machinery that had Blades of Fury (Soul Calibur Gameloft), but Bruce Lee is a game technically outstanding, with a few animations of luxury, long, fun , and that also has the most universal San Franciscan of Chinese origin of all.

Although he is known more for the controversy of his name than for his quality, Edge was a finalist in the IGF for best mobile game in 2009. It is a game where we drive a cube that must go from point A to point B, but between the control, the unsuspected surprises, the aesthetics and the cleverly realized that everything is, it seems without a doubt that it is one of the recommended experiences in the Apple machine.

In the Appstore we can find quite a few games of hitting shots on goal to score, but none as fun as this one. Flick Kick Football, in addition to having a delicious vintage design, has the best control system for sticking virtual bullets that can be found on iPhone. The gameplay is not that it is particularly deep, and in little more than half an hour we can master it without problems ... but it will take a few more hours to get bored of it (especially if we have friends who also play).

Game Dev Story

Game Dev Story is the antithesis of the iPhone game prototype that everyone thinks about. It does not have any kind of advanced touch control (in fact it can be operated with a virtual keyboard), it does not use the accelerometer, it is not thinking about fast games, and despite its simplicity, it is not a casual game . But it gives exactly the same, because the truth is that Game Dev Story is the perfect game for any platform. And if instead of the iPhone, the title of Kairosoft had left for PSN or XboxLive (with their corresponding achievements / trophies), would have triumphed the same.

Highborn

A fantastic turn-based strategy game, and over for iPhone. It basically has everything we can ask of this genre, and these platforms. Agile, addictive, visually decent, and also leaves some freedom for the user to win as he prefers. As if all this were not enough, the script is one of the funniest ones that are remembered lately.

Hoggy

Possibly, the platforms better adapted to this machine. With the accelerometer we move to the right or left, and touching the screen we change the gravity. With this, some graphics that are a mixture of Kirby and Mario, and very well made challenges full of puzzles where we must demonstrate not only our ability, but also our intelligence, we get what is an instant classic.
